Why do people think gay marriage is bad?

I know the basic ideas, but i'd like some opinions from people who oppose gay marriage. Mature people only please. I have no respect for people who just post ';cause gay people are fags!!!'; I will listen to your comments and then i will rebuttle what you say. Kinda like a debate. You can also post if you agree with me but again please be mature.Why do people think gay marriage is bad?
well, people don't really understand the issue very well. many think gay people are trying to destroy the marital institution (which does not make sense when gays are actually trying to take part in it. why would you try to destroy something by joining and partaking in it?). Other people think there is no historical justification for gay marriage. They also are wrong when you analyze this history of marriage across cultures and civilations. Finally, some people say marriage is and has always been an institution between a man and a woman. Of course this is not an answer. Saying that things have always been a certain way is not a reason to keep it that way.Why do people think gay marriage is bad?
Traditionally and historically marriage is one man one woman.





Here is my question then, where should the line be drawn?





How many spouses should people be able to have?


Should people be allowed to marry their cousin?


Should someone who loves their dog be allowed to marry their dog?





Simply put, gay marriage and the examples above all break the the popular definition of marriage. Popular vote has the ability and right to push their views, it is really the cornerstone of a democracy.
