Every county in the US has a genweb (volunteer) page. There is a page for marriage records... it appears from the wording that these are user submitted, not necessarily transcriped records for posting online. Many counties do have that.

Check the list (and other items on the site). Without the name of the persons, I can't see if they are there or not.

Just for the heck of it, don't forget to check the surrounding counties. Never know.
If you would like to edit your question and include your ancestors name I would love to try and find it for you, or you could use www.ancestry.com/co.uk if you have membership.
contact the county court house and ask them to look in the records, or go there yourself, that a pretty easy search aas far as records go, all states and all counties have faliy accurate records on such things after the Civilwar. thats when the US paperwork trail starts to really begin.
