You are absolutely right it is. And there are probably a great number of people who oppose gay marriage who had sex before getting married, myself included. But that which I once did, I no longer do. I repented and turned away from that sin.
Christians are not perfect, just forgiven.
Gays, on the other hand, do not repent of their sin. They embrace it, defend it and seek to proliferate it. As such, they can not be forgiven. And THAT makes the difference.
