Why do people disagree with gay marriage?

I'm not gay, nor am I homophobic.





If you guys don't already know this, gay people don't get to choose if they want to be gay or not. They don't have control over it.





Why do people continuously object to gay marriages? What does it give them? How does it help them?





What harm is done if two guys marry? Two women?





Basically, why do people disagree with gay marriage?





*Is religion involved?

I find it interesting that the youth and the minorities voted in Obama and told us that if we didn't vote for Obama we are racists.





And then this Proposition gets the thumbs down.





Gays should have the right to experience the joys of divorce just like the rest of us.Why do people disagree with gay marriage?
I don't disagree with it myself.





However, I think it's because Christians see marriage as a contract between a man and a woman in the eyes of god and I guess it conflicts with their views.





Also I think, like white supremacy, some people like to better themselves to people who are different from the majority so try to find ways of excluding the minorities from what they see as the 'norm'.





In the Western world in the 21st century there is no really valid reason why they should disagree. Doesn't mean they won't though.
Gay people dont choose to be gay, we are born that way. If a straight person says that we choose to be gay, how would they know if they are not gay? Its not something that is choosen, its something you are born into.





Second I think marriage should be about love. Just because your ';religion'; doesnt support it doesnt mean that mine doesnt. I dont force my values and opinions on you so why would you do that to me. I do thank you for not being a homophobic person and when I say that I thank you, I mean it. People are very uneducated as you can read on this post from NENE who said she voted NO ON 8 which we all know (expect her) that a NO on 8 is a good thing for the GLBT community.
If you take a look at the bible somewhere, it鈥檚 supposed to be a sin. Maybe religious people feel that they are supporting a sin and that is wrong. Stealing is a sin to, but people steal pens from work and that is a sin to.





However, if you think about it, no body really cares if gay people get married and they just want to keep some things old fashioned. I do believe that gay marriage will be legal in about 4-10 years.





I also feel by the end of OBAMA presidency (2012 or 2016) he will allow it and move forward.



Homosexuality is against the Bible and humanity. God created Adam and Eve, NOT Adam and Steve. Plus, the Bible says that homosexuals won't inherit God's Kingdom, but they'll be destroyed (1 Corinthians 6:9; Revelations 21:8).





Homosexuality is a sin in God's eyes; also Soddom and Gomorrah was destroyed by God mainly because they grossly practiced homosexuality
Well, homphobes make up a large part of it, while religious nutjobs who feel this incessant need to discriminate is the other segment.


Good news is the younger generation doesn't really care so once the older generation kicks off, there will be gay marriage.
Because when straight people have same sex experiences or thoughts they dismiss it as not having any serious meaning for them, so they don't take gay people's sex as being of anything serious and dismiss them, their identity, and ultimately their lives--marriage included.

Gay Marriage is an oxymoron. Marriage has always been between men and women. No religion in it for me just 5000 years of tradition. Why would we redefine what marriage is just to please 10% of the population?
i think everyone who pays taxes one way or another has the right to live the american life gay or strait the only thing i don't approve is flaunting it in the street let keep it it the bedroom or the make out place!!
It depends on what your standard is for right and wrong... do you follow the consent of the people, do you judge on your own accord, or is it a divine sense of morality given from God?

and second i voted no on prop 8 because God dosnt approve of homosexual action so why would i vote yes on prop 8 if he dosnt like it


i have nothing against homosexual its just im a person of god also i mean god didnt put (ADAM AND MIKE) but naked on earth he put (ADAM AND EVE) so i no some of u guys are gonna probably not like me but owell its the truth.
