What makes people believe that Gay Marriage is wrong?

Since Gay Marriage is such a hot issue nowadays, have you ever wondered with all the people who oppose Gay Marriage, what drives them in their heart to believe and protest that Gay Marriage is wrong? Is it the word ';Marriage'; that makes it controversial? Would those who oppose gay marriage still feel the same kind of resentment to the ideal of gay marriage if gay marriage was called ';Gayrriage';?What makes people believe that Gay Marriage is wrong?
Some people believe marriage is something that should be exclusive to men and women only, I dont know why but thats just the way it goes, the world is becoming more acceptance to gay people and gay rights so by the time im walking down the ile it should be fine -16-What makes people believe that Gay Marriage is wrong?
I'm in favor of same-sex marriage, and I would resent having it called ';gayrriage';. If the state-sanctioned, civil marriage contract is exactly the same for same-sex couples as it is for opposite-sex couples (same benefits, same rights, same everything), then there is no reason to call it something different. If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it IS a duck. Why bend over backwards to call it a ';domestic water fowl';? Just so some hetero bigots can continue to think they're superior?





OTOH, if a ';gayrriage'; or ';civil union'; or ';domestic partnership'; is NOT the same as a heterosexual marriage in terms of rights, benefits and obligations, then GLBT couples are being treated as second-class citizens, and that is also unacceptable. We pay the same taxes as heterosexuals, we are entitled to equal treatment under the law!
Most people that oppose gay marriage wouldn't be happy if gay people could get married even if it was called something else. There are some people that think it's ok as long as it's not called ';marriage'; (like my father, ugh). As to the why part of your question, a lot of prejudice against gay people (and just hate in general) springs from religions. Most religions teach about the creation of man and WOman, and say that they were created so they could mate and produce offspring. Since it is impossible for a homosexual couple to make children people think it is unnatural and wrong... Whatever people's reasons for disliking LGBTs, I hope that one day we will all e able to get along and live in harmony.
There's nothing wrong with gay marriage. Love can be between man and a woman. Love can be between man and man. Love can be between woman and woman. Love can be between man and squirrel. Love is love and there is nothing wrong about spending the rest of your life with someone.


Calling gay marriage Gayrriage would be purposeless because marriage is marriage no matter who is being married.
Ignorance,Jealousy,envy Homophobia,Inferiority complex,The will to impose their own biased and prudish ideas on others,the need to try and control! Need I go on?The biggest problem here is peoples Victorian concepts,and the failure of these bigots to move on,get a life and let others lead their life as the wish or choose!


Please don`t read this as a rant it is not intended that way it is a sincere observatin of many many thinga that are wrong in our lives today. The old saying of live and let live seems to be a thing of the past.
I really don't know, It's just ignorant minded people to be honest. If you like the same gender, then you're obviously going to fall in love with people of the same gender and ultimately marry them. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that.





People should just keep their noses out of others business, if a man and a man are in love and want to get married, nobody should be able to stop them.
I don't care if gay people marry. But I come from a conservative family so I can tell you why some people do oppose it: lack of education. People who oppose gay marriage are traditionally uneducated. They are brainwashed by their Church.
because to be completely honest being gay is not natural and a lot of people arn't used to the idea of two men or women getting married.
