I don't defend sex before marriage. I work in a public school. The school teaches that sex before marriage is a bad choice. The virgins are the minority in public high school.





I am a christian and a registered Republican. I am against sex before marriage but that does not guarantee that my children will wait until marriage. I go to a church where we are taught that sex before marriage is wrong but that is no guarantee that people who attend practice what they are taught.





I homeschool our 16 year old son. We teach christian principles as part of his education. This does not guarantee that he will follow those christian principles.





The days of stoning are past. Even if we still stoned those who have sinned, I am not qualified to cast the first stone at Bristol Palin or her mother.
Can we explain the hundred thousand or so unwed teenage mothers raised in democrat homes? Fact is that more than half of our kids have sex as teenagers and probably 75% or more have sex before marrage. I know I did.





By the way your hero obama just said that families, expecially children were off limits.

Actually most of them disapprove of sex before marriage, as I am sure Palin does. The fact that this is the only thing you young Democrats can talk about just shows that you have lost your way. How would you feel if Republicans made comments about Obamas kids? You would fly off the handle and scream racism. Well they haven't and they wont, because the children of candidates are OFF LIMITS!






The Republican Party are defending this pregnant teen for political leverage. America is expected by the GOP's standard to treat this matter as private. Yet this potential unknown candidate for the VP and possible Presidency has produce nothing but tabloid coverage. I don't believe McCain's judgment is worthy of the Presidency.
i look at it this way. when i go to buy a used car i am going to drive it first. yes i am an republican. sex before marriage is a good thing. who wants to marry someone who has no idea what they are doing in bed. sarcasm ' sex? well i haven't done it yet but i took a correspondence course on line'

If it was one of Obama's or Biden's daughters the GOP would be ALL OVER IT. Obama has made a statement that he wouldn't bring up the pregnancy. I think it shows what kind of people Obama and McCain are.
For the most part I'd say they would prefer to keep it a personal matter. I was brought up to wait...but I didn't. Did that make my parents mad. Yeah, but what does that have to do with their politics? Why is a child's choice on the parent? I don't agree with that at all.
Not so much a hyocrite but it does again make me question why the heck McCain picked Palin. I mean cmon, this is getting nuts!





If McCain hopes to stand any chance of winning this November he has to get his ducks in a row. At the moment all anyone is seeing is a complete mess!
There kids have nothing to do with it. It shows family values that she went to her parents and they supported her. And it goes with their beliefs that she wants to keep it. And Obama's mom was 18 and unmarried. He even pointed that out today.
YES - they are hypocrites. They will justify anything! There are people talking about Obama's mother - she was NOT a minor, nor was her mother going around acting like the virgin police - believing that abstinent-only education was the ONLY way to go....

Their beliefs are way more useful in today's society.
It isn't encouraged, but everybody makes mistakes, and no one is perfect. And, no offense, but Obama hasn't been around long enough to make many.
It happens in all walks of life and in all political parties.
