What are homosexuals doing in order to convince congress to allow same-sex marriage?

This is for a presentation/debate that I'm doing in school. And I'm basically wondering if there's anything that homosexual couples or organization are doing in order to convince or approach their government to allow same-sex marriage. If so, could you send me some type of source or link of a recent story about it or just talk about it for me pleease ! Take a look at the Human Rights Campaign website (see below). They work/lobby at all levels of government for LGBT rights, and specifically same sex marriage. There is a drop down on the HRC website where you can select your state to see what's happening in your state specifically.What are homosexuals doing in order to convince congress to allow same-sex marriage?
Radgal is right. The correct approach is at the state level. Congress can help by repealing DOMA, but the positive work needs to be at the state level. Laws that define marriage are at the state level, not the federal level. When states are required to accept another state's marriage, it will over time force the states to even out the laws.

Marriage equality is following the same pattern that women's right to vote followed in the last century. Most of the initial states that gave women the right to vote were in the northeast. It was only after that when the rest of the country slowly followed.
IMO Washington DC is a waste of time. What will get the attention of Congress is an ever increasing number of states that pass MARRIAGE EQUALITY. At some point we will reach a tipping point and Washington will be almost forced to act because they are so out of step with the states. When we get to that point? I think when we get 20 states (representing more than 50% of the population) on the side of equality the beltway crowd will finally act.
Go to the human rights campaign website. It will answer all of your questions.
The best thing would to describe it correctly. It should be ';Equal Marriage';
i dont know what the major players of the movement are doing, but the way you worded this is kind of backwards...same sex marriage IS allowed right now. its called a civil union, granted some states dont recognize them but technically it IS legal now. AS is marriage in a church, however good luck finding a pastor willing to do it.
