I need a copy of my mom and dad's marriage certificate. They were married in Korea during the 70's, moved to the states and had us kids. Where or how do I go about obtaining a copy of the certificate? My mom was married in Korea (1970's) but lives in the states now. How do I get a copy of marriage certificate?
If they were married in Korea, you're going to have to go to Korea to get it (well, not actually physically go there). And if it鈥檚 written in Korean (as my marriage certificate from Korea is), then you're going to have to get it translated. You can鈥檛 just get anybody to do it. They have to be 'certified' or the court won鈥檛 accept it--assuming you need it for a legal reason. Why do you need it?
I鈥檇 suggest you contact the US Embassy in Korea to see if they can offer some advice on where to begin. My mom was married in Korea (1970's) but lives in the states now. How do I get a copy of marriage certificate?
