';Texas does not allow gay marriages'; - Wrong. They do not recognize gay marriage, but they have no laws against performing the ceremony.





Marriage is a religious ceremony, which is not illegal to do. Marriage is also a legal union between two people (currently a man and woman only in most states, hopefully to change soon) that get many benefits given to them by the state and federal government.





If two men (or two women) get married in a church in a state that does not recognize it, they do not have a license and cannot claim any of the benefits heterosexual married couples can claim. But there is no law against performing the ceremony.
You can't. Clergy are allowed to perform ';symbolic'; unions in every state in the Union. Since only state law can allow county clerks to issue marriage licenses, unless the clerk is issuing a license, there's nothing you can do about any member of the clergy performing a ceremony for a gay couple. If the clerk is issuing licenses in a state where gay marriage is illegal, you CAN turn the clerk in to the state's Attorney General. It's highly unlikely this is happening, and it's more likely you are just a bitter halfwit bigot with too much time on your hands and not enough brains in your cranium.

Texas may not recognize them, but that church will.





People get remarried for anniversaries sometime, but these ceremonies have no government recognized legal weight. This is exactly what is happening.
