People are confusing marriage with procreation. Marriage and procreation are mutually exclusive. If it weren't, no unwed couples could reproduce. Likewise, there would be no childless marriages.





Proponents of traditional marriage don't see that two people of the same sex can love and support each other in exactly the same way as two people of the opposite sex. They rely on their outdated ideas of woman being created for man and, quite frankly, they're a little too hung up on the sex issue.





They argue that because only a man and woman have what they consider compatible physiology, and homosexuality is obviously all about sex (couldn't possibly be anything else, right?), there's no way homosexuality can be natural. Of course, anything we don't consider natural must be eradicated and outlawed.





Proponents of traditional family values don't see that two people of the same sex can love and raise a child in exactly the same way as two people of the opposite sex. They rely on their outdated ideas that only a man and a woman together can raise a healthy, happy child.





I've also heard arguments that homosexuality = pedophile, which enrages me. The blatant ignorance of such a statement just makes me want to vomit.
It doesn't. There are five states that allow same sex marriage. My marriage and family so far are just fine.

And for your information, polygamy is the most popular form of marriage in the world and humans are naturally inclined to form polygamist marriages. So, clearly, the ';nuclear family'; isn't the most ';traditional'; form of marriage.

I have no idea. It's not like gays haven't already been forming long-term relationships, buying houses together, and even adopting children. That's been going on for several generations now. I have asked this question multiple times of many religious people and never gotten a logical answer. If a two thousand year old book is that only defense for the lack of equality of gays and lesbians in America, I say it's weak tea at best.

Because God created sex between a man and a women. And it makes sense too. That's the only way we reproduce. Marriage is supposed to be a very special thing because it says that the two become one. Traditional Marriage is doing a good enough job breaking down family values all by itself. Gay marriage isn't responsible for breaking down the family, the 45% divorce rate is handling that nicely
