How long does it take to register a marriage in the philippines?

i am a canadian who married my wife in the philippines, i would like to know how this process works. How long does it take to register a marriage in the philippines?
My wife and I got married in Philippines and it took about 4 months for the marriage contract to get registered at NSO. FYI, if she goes there for certified copies, always get extras. That goes for any documents you have to go and wait all day to get. The cost of a couple extras is nothing compared to the procedures required to get it.How long does it take to register a marriage in the philippines?
Yes, the second answer is correct. however, as to your question of how long to register the marriage, you have 7 days after the marriage ceremony to register it with the local civil registrar which is located at the the town or city hall. Then that's it, 7 days after marriage or even after it with penalty.

For more information see the local civil registrar located at the local town or city halls. or try this site www.nso.gov.ph
Easy Sir,

First, your marriage certificate must be complete with all the signatures of the officiating priest/pastor/judge and your witness.

Second, get it submit it to the local municipality where you got married within seven days otherwise there will be a fine of Php 150.00 for delayed registration. Come back and claim your registered Copy in a few days. The local municipality will file this for you to get it submitted to the National Statistics Office.

Third... Your Done... Easy isn't it.

But if you want a NSO Certified Copy. you can but there's a long queue and you need to be a bit early.

Or you can ask an authorized representative of yours to get it for you.

I hope this helps...
legal marriage processing for civil wedding in the Phil it takes about 4 months.

Any wedding conducted by certain Religion, that marriage certificate derived from them can not be honored as proof for any legal transactions in the country.
