In conservative Judaism, what are the rules for marriage?

What are the roles of men and women?

What are the steps to marriage?

How do they date?In conservative Judaism, what are the rules for marriage?
((((thanks MARIE for starring)))))

Conservative Jews can range from pretty devout through to not at all religious, at least in the UK. They are unlikely to marry outside the faith, though.

In many Jewish families, the woman is a very strong influence and personality. This applies to both Jewish women who work and those who don't. It's rare - outside of ultra, ultra Orthodox communities - to find any Jewish women who play 'second fiddle' to their husbands, frankly. We Jewish chicks are a feisty lot!

The steps to marriage are the same as for non Jews - meeting, dating, getting engaged, marriage, children. Conservative Jews are usually traditional and won't have children outside of marriage, though it does happen. In conservative Judaism, what are the rules for marriage?
I will star this for my Jewish contacts. I am not Jewish and am not an expert on the traditions and rules for marriage in Judaism. Peace and blessings to you.
