If marriage is so sacred, why don't conservative Christians give up their right to divorce?

One argument of religious conservatives is to say that the sanctity of marriage would be threatened so much by same sex marriage that it needs to be legally denied to them.

If conservative Christians are so worried about the sanctity of marriage, why don't they give up their right to divorce. Then it would *REALLY* mean ';'til death do us part.'; I mean the only real threat to marriage would be the legal dissolution of it, right?

So when will Christian conservatives put their money where their mouth is, so to speak, and get rid of divorce as well?If marriage is so sacred, why don't conservative Christians give up their right to divorce?
People need to be protected from abuse and infidelity. If marriage is so sacred, why don't conservative Christians give up their right to divorce?
The idea of marriage comes from the bible. It is a commitment to God. Conservative Christians who end up filing for divorce are hypocrites to the Democrats that believe in gay marriage. Personally I do not think there should ever have been a right to divorce. If you really believe in the bible then this wouldn't be a problem. If two gay people want to be together for the rest of their lives then fine, whatever, but people read the definition of marriage: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/m鈥?/a>

Gays should not have the right to get married. There should not be a right for divorce.
divorce isn't *normal*... divorce insn't *promoted*, divorce isn't *glorified*. it isn't celebrated. nobody *wants* a divorce...

and , btw..

... there are instances in the bible where divorce is considered a legitimate option... it isn't a sin... only when people abuse it in such a way as to make a mockery of the union of man and wife under the eyes of the Lord.
I think its because everyone makes mistakes.

A person may have ';strayed'; off of the right path and made the mistake of marrying the wrong person. In which case they can get a divorce and try to fix their walk with god.
Many have. They're called Catholics. No, not like your made-up Catholics such as Pelosi. Real Catholics.
That's Catholicism dude, not christianity as a whole read a book about it.
