If it's just a ceremony, no paperwork. If you want to register a domestic partnership, you have to file a form with the secretary of state. The form needs to be notarized. Information and the form is at the link below.

You can do it at the wedding, make it part of the ceremony. Maybe you can find someone to marry you who is a notary. Treat it like when the bride and groom sign the marriage license. What paperwork do i need for a gay marriage?
Me and my girlfriend got married October 17, 2008 in LA. This was before Prop 8 had passed. All we needed was picture ID, money for the application/ceremony and certificate that was mailed about 4 weeks later. Oh yeah and we brought rings because we believe in the symbol of the circle that relates to marriage. We had a quick, nice, nervous marriage! We got a copy of the marriage certificate, copy of the paperwork to prove payment that we wanted our certificate mailed to our home and they gave us a marriage booklet discussing communication, abuse, balancing work and home, having children, etc.

Hope I helped and Good Luck to you! :)
