Has it occurred to any conservatives that marriage is about commitment, not gender combinations?

I thought you all wanted MORE stable households and LESS promiscuity, more sex WITHIN marriage and less WITHOUT. Then why are you trying to stop people from committing, stabilizing and being monogamous?Has it occurred to any conservatives that marriage is about commitment, not gender combinations?
It's a matter of semantics and law. The word marriage has a definition and tradition for a long time. This homosexual ';marriage'; is just one more fad that we're supposed to give in to because we want everyone to be happy and joyous and all sing cumbaiya around the campfire.

If you want to change the world then change your perspective and it will morph around you. Even if the U.S. did pass a law making it all right for gays to marry do you think the rest of the world would ever take us seriously again?Has it occurred to any conservatives that marriage is about commitment, not gender combinations?
Unfortunately for them, it's all about uniting in hate, not stability in unions. Logic never even factors into it - they are too busy patting themselves on the back for banding together to persecute something.

EDIT: And to all the people who are screaming ';it's for procreation'; - plenty of heterosexual people get married that never have kids, and plenty of people have kids without getting married. Marriage doesn't really have anything to do with having children - it has to do with creating stable, long-lasting unions.

Moreover, homosexual people have children ALL THE TIME - gay men use surrogate mothers and/or adopt, gay women use donated sperm and/or adopt.

You can't use procreation as a reason to deny homosexuals the right to marry. Procreation is not dependent upon marriage in any way, shape or form. If that is your only basis, then you need to ban heterosexual people who have no intention of having children from getting married as well.
Well our sacrament of matrimony isn't only about commitment -- it's about procreation, and being open to the creation of life. We're very specific about that.

I'm sick and tired of listening to people say it's about hate. Alas, no such thing. Not in my world, anyway. In fact I am hoping the legislation introduction of everyone having ';domestic partnerships'; in CA goes through. It states everyone married is in a domestic partnership and marriage is only defined in religious arenas. Let's make everyone happy and move on already.

PS. Catholics don't even recognize hetero marriages that were not performed within the confines of the Sacrament. So there ya go.
You're spreading your butter a bit thick there Biff. Look at the definition of marriage before the PC crowd and liberals altered its meaning. You'll find it's defined as an act between a man and a woman.

Same gender sex is a form of promiscuity.

Sex only within matrimony is to prevent children from not having to be raised by one parent. To prevent children from having children. A home with a care giver and a provider.

You perceive from a false assumption that all gay couples stay together for life, not so.
You really don't understand what the definition of marriage is, do you? It's a man and a woman. If you order a rum %26amp; coke, they don't give you coke %26amp; coke.
It's also about family.
No, it hasn't occurred to them. It's all about teh genitalz, you see.
I know, I don't get it either. There's nothing else to say.
I'm committed to my job but I don't want to marry it
