What does it mean to have your marriage challenged?

Does this only happen when one person files for divorce? Can the state challenge your marriage?What does it mean to have your marriage challenged?
Idk really I knew someone who married someone and it turned out he was not divorced yet.

I think it can happen for many of reasons someone divorces or the reason I gave above. Or someone is an illegal in the country.

This can happen if the marriage is not legal or was established under false pretenses. depending on the circumstances, either the state can challenge or one of the marriage partners can. Examples of illegal marriages the state would challenge: one or both partners under marriageable age. One of the partners still married to someone else (bigamy). Example of false pretense that actually happened: a guy marrying another guy thinking he was a woman like he acted.
It means that a problem could seperate a couple. Whether it's

1. affair

2. They don't get along anymore

it's a very, very hard thing to manuever from that leaves most marriages hanging by the noose... also ';divorce';%26gt;

can be any such problem that greatly threatens a marriage.
idk.........talk to lawyer
It means the marriage might not be legal.
