When do you think the fed gov't will make a law allowing gay marriage?

Denying a citizen the right to marriage based on their sexual preference is unconstitutional in my eyes and the eyes of many other people. Some states like CT already allow gay marriage, so what is it going to take to get the federal gov't to step in? When is it going to happen? When do you think the fed gov't will make a law allowing gay marriage?
Its sad that this is and quote ';A FREE COUNTRY'; yet people can't marry who they want not so free huh...thats why i happend to vote for a change so maybe obama will change that for every one!! love is special and it is a persons choice of who they want to marry!!!When do you think the fed gov't will make a law allowing gay marriage?
I agree with you that gay marriage should be legal all over the US, but I don't think the federal government will ever step in. Marriage licenses are given out by the states so logically it would seem that the citizens of each state should get to decide the status of same-sex marriage where they live. It's more democratic that way. It's not the federal government's business to step in, just as with abortion.
I wouldn't expect it for a long, long time; at least not until everybody else gets tired of bowing down to the wills of the religious right. It seems like the government will do anything they want just to shut them up.
Well, gays are not denied of getting married. What is not allowed is to get married with someone that has your same machinery
When it becomes profitable for them.
