Money is important in a relationship or marriage?

Do you think money is THAT important in a relationship or marriage? I know we all need money but I just don't think money is that important. To me, love comes first. If a couple doesn't have a lot of money or make good money, that relationship will not work?Money is important in a relationship or marriage?
Its usually not the lack/abundance of money that causes a relationship to fail. Its how the couple handles the money that they do have. If one is so frivolous that they can't pay their bills, it can cause lots of stress. If one person in the relationship feels a ';seniority'; over the other because they're the breadwinner, problems are ahead! If they can't compromise when it comes to financial situations, they won't be happily married for long.Money is important in a relationship or marriage?
When we are old and gray it will take money to help us to care for our loved ones. It takes money to raise kids. It takes money to provide. What's important with regard to money is not sacrificing the relationship for the sake of it but having the balance to make it your tool to enhance your relationship. Money helps relieve the stress that comes with bills. Money allows for entertainment. You can only sit and stare at each other for so long. A relationship needs to be based on friendship so that when the sex is not there ; a relationship will be. While a relationship shouldn't be based on money ; don't kid yourself, it's absolutely necessary whether you are single or married.
Money is the leading cause of divorce in America. Its isn't people who have NO money, its people who have money but then spend it all. It is caused by money issues, but the underlining factor is the fighting. Fighting over money puts a lot of strain on a relationship. I have seen this many many times. One person, not always the woman, will spend way more than affordable. Which causes a fight over and over again. Some relationships can survive and some can't. It is usually worse when one loses a job or has something holding them back from work. Too many people live off credit cards and max out their wallets! When you lose money you counted on for those bills, it can cause major strain!
well, money buys you shelter to live in, money buys the mattress and bed you sleep on, money puts the food on your table and money puts the gas in your car to go to work.

If one spouse is wasting the funds away on a stupid video game or getting their nails done every week, basically using funds on unnecessary things then yes.. that could be the start of many arguments.

I'm not saying money is the highlight of a relationship, but its pretty damn hard to live without money.
Money will always make things easier in a relationship/marriage. Doesn't mean if you don't have much money that you can't have a relationship that will work. A lot of couples fight about money and that is what ruins the relationship. Love should be more important but you do need to make sure you have enough money to survive.
Ok, here is the deal.....

Men are supposedly ';visual';....ok, us women have to ';accept'; that......now women, we crave ';security';....MONEY = SECURITY.

So guys, don't call us gold diggers, we are simply ';following our God given nature'; just like YOU guys do!

LOL!

Yes, money is important..........as in ';very';!
Money is in the top 3 reasons of why couples fight, so I'd say it's pretty damn important to have it and to be smart with it.
Love won't feed you or put a roof over your head. But once you have the basics covered, no, it doesn't matter all that much in marriage, at least not as long as *both* of you don't care about it much.
Yes; material things matter - lots of things beyond money.

Love is not enough.

You don't have to be fantastically wealthy, but you need to be able to live on what you bring in.
Yeah well it appears to me that money is more important than you might want it to be.
In a relationship, when money goes out the window, love is usually not far behind...
Ever hear the old saying ';You can't live on love alone';? It's true many couples separate over money or the lack of. Sad but true.
