Yes, the law says so. The fact that she went off when she had extra cash means nothing. When married men spend most of their money accumulated while married spend it all on their lover half their age it is still 50/50 at the time divorce even though he already spent most of it.

Too bad the husband didn't file for divorce when she ran...the courts could have settled this long before she went broke. Unless the divorce was settled - she's entitled to 1/2 the marital assets. (In most states)

she got her settlement. its called a settlement for a reason. Your supposed to be satisfied with what you receive in the end. If she isn't satisfied that's her fault. It's called money management... ooohh and A JOB!!!
should have divorced her when she first left when she got the inheritance. her inheritance has nothing to do with anything it doesn't really count.
I don't feel she is entitled to anything because she didn't share her money with her husband.She took off with all of it and now is broke? That's her bad. I don't think she should get squat!
Not sure about all the legalities but my first impression is no she shouldn't get a dime.
She is entitled to HALF your marriage assets!
