There should be bans on infertile couples from getting married as well - after all, the purpose of ';marriage'; is procreation, and if they can't procreate, why should they be allowed to marry? Interdenominational marriages should be banned - if a Catholic and a Pentecostal can get married where do they go to church? Worse yet, their children might grow up to be BaptiCathiCostals!!! You are right to point out the irony. Our Church not only defines marriage as a sacrament, but dictates who may or may not receive that sacrament. You may not agree with it, but you have to admit we are at least consistent in our doctrine. Fundamentalists who point the finger at homosexuals are standing on shaky ground
It's funny how so many Christians seem oblivious to the fact that millions of married couples never had a Christian wedding ceremony. Yet they still claim to have the right to define ';marriage'; as a religious institution for everybody.





Uncle Sam does not care about the wedding ceremony. You can get married in a church by a pastor, get married in the woods with a Pagan handfasting, get married in your kitchen by a Justice of the Peace, or even get married in Las Vegas by an Elvis Impersonator.
