I don't get it. I understand churches not wanting to sanction such unions and that is absolutely their right - freedom of religion and all. I guess my question is this...all these religious conservatives say that gays are forcing their lifestyle on them, but isn't that EXACTLY what they are doing by prohibiting them to marry. Most of the gay couples I know just want to get married, have a life, and be left the hell alone. Why do people care about gay marriage so much?
I really don't.
Marriage, I believe, is between a Man and a Woman. And it is intended for procreation, which benefits the Govt. and society.
Someday they will recognize more than 3 genders in this country, but they can't do it yet.
Anyone can declare themself Gay, hence the problem. Why do people care about gay marriage so much?
People make ridiculous arguments that allowing gay marriage will force it to be taught in schools. As if that is one of our society's biggest concerns at this time. Others don't want their children exposed to such lifestyles, which is also ridiculous, considering that it is apparent in TV, movies, books, music, etc. Any kid who doesn't live in a dank cellar without technology has been exposed to homosexuality at some point.
I agree that the religious are trying to force their morals on others, as opposed to morals trying to push things on the religious. It's the same issue as with abortion.
Thats just the problem the overwhelming majority of Americans dont think gay marriage is an issue at all. The majority of Americans have far more pressing needs on their plate than if bob can marry bill they really could care less actually.
I think it all boils down to some people having a need to belittle others and to have others agree and support that attitude.
Cause people don't like gay people because they act all fruity and wear assless chaps and lisp and act weird. If gay people acted normal maybe they would get some more respect and people would take them serious.
Because it is disgusting and unnatural... in my opinion.
