The date of birth on my marriage certificate is incorrect. Do I still have to apply for divorce?

I have been seperated for 7 years and would like to be divorced now. Having discovered my date of birth is incorrect I was wondering if I am actually legally married. I was married in Scotland.The date of birth on my marriage certificate is incorrect. Do I still have to apply for divorce?

don't know much in scotland but in USA that mean you are legally married, because you sign that paper and also been witness involve.





In US divorced will not process unless two party have been separate for a year. Still have to following paper work for legal matter.





don't forget, beside the children there are marital properties, also including retirement plan and pension for retirement.





you should know, getting divorced is ten times complication then when you are getting married. The word of until dead due us part will haunted us all until the day we die....... so Good luck
Sorry, but yes. You need a divorce. Defect of form doesn't void the document.
if you signed it then it is legal so yes get a divorse have fun
