That's freaking it, I'm going lesbian, and I'm taking a wife!!. And, no one can stop me!! :P I can find somewhere more evolved than the backwater hick states that still try to legislate morality! Silliness. What are your feelings on gay marriage?
Homosexuals should be happily as miserable as straight people and be allowed to marry.
Nicola, I wonder how many homosexuals do you know? I know plenty and not one of them ever said that they ';choose'; to be gay. Some of them, in fact, covered up their tendencies entered into straight relationships which all ended in tragedy for all parties involved. I knew a family member of mine was homosexual from 2 years of age, and just came out not that long ago. He even had girlfriends in high school, played plenty of sports, and raced cars, all of this to hide his sexuality and is now out. He said he knew he was different when other boys started talking about girls and he only really noticed other boys.
Oh and Nicola, your argument about procreation can be made against women who have had hysterectomies, men who have had vasectomies, women who went through menopause, and couples who don't want children. I guess they shouldn't get married either.
Gay marriage can never be compared to any of the past discrimation of the past with African Americans and Women's Rights. Being gay is a personal choice and never should be made for anyone to accept but themselves. If you decide that your partner is of the same sex, that is your personal choice and no one has anything to do with it but if you are fighting to be acklowedged as being married, that cannot happend because a marriage is between a man and a woman. This is from the beginning of time and the reason we were put together is for pro-creation, babies, families and a gay couple can not bring forth life.
Religion aside.
One of the problems I have with gay marriage is the majority of those that support gay marriage do so based upon equal rights...like you. However, they don't support incestuous marriage (brother marrying his sister) based upon their beliefs that it is morally wrong. (Sound like those against gay marriage and those that are against incestuous marriage do so on similar premise)
I also hate how gays and their supporters throw around ';civil and constitutional rights'; like they even know what that means.
A right is something that NO government can require you to have a license to perform, unlike driving, hunting, etc...
You have a right to own a gun. It is a licensed privilege to carry that gun concealed on your person.
Marriage is not a right. The state can deny you a license to marry based on many things. Marriage is a privilege that even straight couples can be denied if they don't conform to the laws of the state.
If you're behind in child support, you can be denied a marriage license...so please stop throwing around the word ';right'; when discussing gay marriage or ANY marriage because it is NOT a right.
PICKLEHEADED POSSUM:
You cannot sit here and proclaim to be a Christian and support gay marriage. God says love the sinner and HATE the sin. That means you can love that person and pray for them etc...but you do not condone the sin. Maybe you need to read your bible again...
If you remove the religious considerations, then it's just a contract between two people. They promise certain things to each other and get certain (government recognized) rights in return. So, why does it matter whether they are the same gender or not?
In the United States the First Amendment to the Constitution says in part ';Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion . . .'; So, it seems to me that there should NOT be a religious consideration in a government sanctioned marriage.
It is not a matter of discrimination for some people, it is a matter of beliefs. I hate when people compare the struggle of black people to being gay. Being black is not a sin,but being gay is. GOD made black people and he loves them but GOD did not make people gay and he hates the gay act itself. I am a believer in the word of GOD. And GOD says that being gay is an abomination. I have a cousin that is gay and I love him very much and I always will, but he knows my beliefs and just like I respect his right to choose gay relations, he also respects my rights not to be around it. That is the biggest problem that I see with gay people is that they want to force their lifestles on people and that is wrong. They have to respect people who believe differently than them. Only GOD can judge them but GOD is also the only judge of the people they complain about.(the people who will not accept them) Don't get me wrong, I believe it is wrong to discriminate against anyone but realistically people have the rights to their beliefs.
To me it isn't marriage. They can live in a way similar to that way a man and woman who are married do. It will never be exactly like marriage. I'm for letting people do what they want. But that includes me too. I don't want to call it marriage and I won't.
I don't see what it has to do with being equal. They can't have a child together. No amount of legislation, feel good politics or hand wringing about injustice will ever change that.
don't call Nicola out, she is right!!! i know plenty of gay people, one being my uncle. No matter what i will always love him, but it is a CHOICE. don't give me this BS of being born that way...
%26amp; i feel the same way miss cali did and not ashamed to say it.
take your lib opinions somewhere else and don't try to shove them down my throat.
I believe what i believe....
it's never been legal for gays to marry %26amp; now it's bein pushed more than ever. people have evolved so much and we didn't have the issues before. doesn't it make you wonder what happened. it's called a lifestyle, which is a CHOICE!
%26amp; how does someone know they were gay at 2, when they were still shi***** in diapers. REALLY!?!?!
i have heard it all now, for sure!
cuz some people think that there religious views should validate going against our constitutional rights...which is just wrong.
I find it funny that all these jesus lovers love to judge other people even though Im pretty sure its a sin to do that.(something about casting stones or something) I thought that god was supposed to be the ';judge'; but i really dont know anything about the bible..
I have no problem with gay marriage if it is between to loving people that want to spend the rest of their lives together...I just rather it not be called marriage cause I'm dumb. But I have no problem with a gay yet legitimate couple getting hitched.
Well I'm neither. I am against marriage all together (Just kidding. I'm just a bitter ole married woman)
Seriously though, I think gay couples should have as many rights as straight people. I can't believe it is even an issue in this day and age.
If it's good enough for Men %26amp; Women to live together without a certificate of marriage.......It's good enough for gays as well.
i'm ALL for it, unlike that gathering storm commerical LOL LOL LOL
if you havent seen it youtube it or google it. that sh*t is sooo funny
It's a slippery slope 1st gay marriage then they have to recognize multiple wives marriage. What's next...
Man + Woman IMO
I am all for gay marriage. I don't understand what all the fuss is about. What two consenting adults do will not affect anyone else. God says ';love your neighbor';. I am a Christian %26amp; 57 yrs. old.
I don't care just sick of hearing people being negative and going on about how the way someone else lives their life is wrong even though it actually has no effect on them.
my opinion. if i have to go thru marrige why shouldnt a gay person do it too? hell do you know how hard it is?
I support equal rights for people of all colors, genders, and acceptable lifestyle choices.
I have no problem with it. Homosexuals pay their taxes - why shouldn't they get the same benefits?
i'm straight and i'm fine with gay marriage love is love no matter what
I have a gay child...who would dearly love to marry their partner. I'm for it.
personally i dont support it..but it doesnt bother me. if my child was gay i would love them just the same.
I don't care what others do and I don't understand why so many people do
